Perhaps you feel consumed by guilt as a result. You may recognize the physical sensations of anxiety but not know how to react to or control your uncomfortable symptoms.

Do you find yourself simply going through the motions at work? Are you trying to mitigate anxiety by making unhealthy choices like smoking cigarettes, drinking too much coffee or consuming an unhealthy lunch? After work, do you try to relax and numb the emotional and physical pain by having a couple drinks or watching mindless television?

Anxiety Treatment Can Help You Get Your Life Back

As we get to know each other and build a trusting and supportive relationship, we’ll begin our work together examining how anxiety is interfering with your life. We can explore what life would be like for you if you didn’t suffer from anxiety and set some realistic, attainable goals., I can immediately teach you some relaxation and other techniques, such as self-soothing and self-hypnosis. With these tools, you can help yourself when heightened anxiety surfaces and experience immediate relief. As our work continues, we’ll start to identify your strengths and I’ll help you build upon those strengths. Often, people focus on their weaknesses, spiraling them into more anxiety and other issues. By focusing on your strengths, you will start to understand the power you have to heal yourself. In sessions, you can also begin to identify negative thought patterns and learn to how to challenge and replace anxious and upsetting thoughts with healthy, enhancing and realistic thinking. For example, if you think “I’m always messing up at work,” you would then replace it with, “I was successful in meeting production goals today.” The more often you find something positive to say in place of something negative, the faster you will break the cycle of anxiety. Our session will be collaborative. You are a vital part of your own healing process. Please let me know if a particular anxiety treatment method, such as meditation or journaling, isn’t working for you.   If something is off course, I want to hear about it so that we can work together to meet your needs.

Experiencing relief from anxiety is entirely possible. With the help of positive psychology and self-soothing and relaxation techniques, you can regain control of your life. You can feel more balanced and relaxed and experience better overall health.

You May Still Have Questions or Concerns About Anxiety Treatment

What if seeking anxiety treatment means that I’m weak or sick? Shouldn’t I  be able to overcome anxiety on my own?

Paradoxically, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. When you break a leg, you use a crutch until you don’t need it anymore. My job is to help you resolve your problem, so that you won’t need the crutch—therapy—anymore.

Therapy won’t help me. I’ve had different doctors over the years and never found relief from my anxiety. How will therapy with you be different?

I understand and appreciate your skepticism. You and your previous therapists may not have been a good match. But, I have years of experience and success helping people just like you mitigate anxiety symptoms and even overcome anxiety completely. Perhaps the styles of therapy they provided didn’t resonate with you. Perhaps, my approach to anxiety treatment is the fresh, new approach you need to experience the relief that you are desperately seeking.

I don’t want to be stuck on anti-anxiety medications for the rest of my life. Can you help me reduce anxiety without medication?

I have treated many people effectively without the use of medication. For instance, you can learn relaxation techniques, how to perform self-hypnosis and implement tools for self-soothing (talking to yourself in a calm way). I also have specialized training in energy healing, which is like emotional acupuncture. This can also be a very helpful tool for anxiety treatment. However, if you feel like you may need more help with your anxiety, we can discuss medication as a supplement to your therapy.
